I can't believe I hadn't posted these before! I made three of these baroque-style dresses for a client in 2008: Evil Pawn Jewelry; they were used in a promotional photoshoot.

This green dress is probably my favorite, purely for the color.

Two pieces: bodice with overskirt, worn over separate but matching petticoat. Small pillows for panniers at the hips. Bodice laces up the back. Black velvet ribbon trim.

Adapted from two or more Butterick patterns, IIRC. I tend to heavily modify commercial patterns when I use them, but they are a great time-saver.

Green acetate taffeta. Generally I dislike acetate, but nothing is as crisp or shiny, and this was unusually high-quality stuff; I quite like the finished effect and the rustle.

About 12 yards of fabric went into this dress. I had ordered a full bolt, so I had a bit leftover; it will go into my Poison Ivy Burlesque costume.

Custom orders like this one are available through my online shop: [link]

The colour is gorgeous, and I love the bow detail at the neckline it's so neat and elegant. :)

I know this pattern! I used the same butterick pattern for my Alex Stafford dress. Great job on the dress.

whoops! Just ignore that last one--sloppy reading on my part.

And, uh, thanks!
