Right. So this is my new way of making the accessories. This is so relatively effortless, and gives such a good result, I may stick with this for a long time.
The belt and tiara are metallic gold vinyl glued to oil-tanned leather. They have enough body to stand on their own, but are still supple, lightweight, and should be quite durable.
The eagle is 3-ply construction: gold vinyl spray-glued onto theatrical buckram, which is then given a backing of heavy cotton drill, the same stuff that lines the corset. This makes it resilient but flexible and I can still sew through it. I stitched detail lines with beige thread.
The eagle will be stitched directly to the bustier top. I still would like to make the eagle detachable from the bustier, so that the client can wear the foxy red corset alone, but so far I have not found a satisfactory way to do that.
